Increasing your Effectiveness as a Leader & Manager: Making the World (and Work) a Better Place
The inspiration to explore ‘renewal’ comes from a profound desire to equip managers with the tools, knowledge, and capabilities to maximise their potential and impact. If you have a senior role in the charity or commercial sector then this programme is for you.
I distil 45 years of management and leadership work into a progressive learning pathway. This is a practical and experiential immersion, boosting your ability to lead, manage teams, and deliver results. You can be a top professional and lead a fulfilling life through consistent renewal practices.
Our attitude toward learning (and unlearning) is key to how we experience ourselves and the world. Renewal blends coaching, mentoring, and skills development so clients gain new perspectives, challenge their assumptions, and apply more enlightened people practice. We explore practical wisdom from over thirty leading management thinkers. This holistic approach integrates wellbeing and self-care. Wellbeing is not just a nice to have, it is the foundation of a high-performance culture.
I integrate seven areas of expertise into the content & delivery:
Leadership and management: I have held Executive Director, leadership, and management roles around the world for over 30 years – at global brands like The Guardian, boutique technology firms, and inspirational charities like SANE.
Consultancy: I have fulfilled leading-edge consultancy projects in the commercial world e.g. Barclays – and non-profit sector e.g. Breaking Barriers. I continue to do this so that my knowledge is continually being refreshed.
Coaching: I am an accredited professional coach. I hold the Diploma in Executive Coaching from the Academy of Executive Coaching (AoEC). I have set up and run coaching programmes for charities that have improved confidence, resilience, and performance.
MBA: I hold an Executive MBA from Ashridge (Hult) business school. I chose Ashridge because of its people-focused approach to management and leadership.
Governance: I have navigated the complexities of working effectively with trustee boards – improving strategic thinking, decision-making, and creating a One Team ethos.
Inner work: I have practiced self-enquiry since my mid-20s – to understand my conditioning, trauma, bias, and shadow side – and to develop a deep acceptance of myself and the moment.
Wellbeing: I am a lifelong Yoga practitioner and qualified teacher. I offer guidance on mindfulness and meditation, because these are proven tools to support resilience & wellbeing.
Methodology
I create inspiring learning experiences within each module. We open with a case study on key skills e.g. What is Leadership? There is a video presentation from a leading management thinker, and I add comprehensive notes, reflection points, and questions for you to explore. You study the materials in advance so that we can use the session time to focus on ‘so what’ and how to apply the learning. The sessions are online so that your commitment is sustainable within a busy work schedule.
I work with clients to build a safe space with a focus on openness, exploration, and delivering the ‘How’. I welcome client input so that we embrace all facets of personal and professional development.
Programme Duration and Costs
Experience points to a minimum of six 1:1 sessions spaced out over a four-month timeframe, and ideally twelve sessions over an eight-month period. I do my utmost to make the pricing of renewal programmes accessible for you/your organisation. I provide quotations based on your requirements and preferred number of sessions. There is no VAT payable.
